Living in the BYU Bubble
So, I have been in the Utah Valley for about four years now, and if I have gained anything while living in Utah Valley, it’s that this region is so dang pretty. I look out my sliding-glass door (I live half way up on the mountain by BYU’s Y), and I always get to see this pretty view of Provo, Springville, Spanish Fork, and the outlying areas. There is a pretty vista of Utah Lake, along with BYU campus. One is able to view LDS temples in the distance, too. It is especially pretty when it is night time. Occasionally, I enjoy to look out my porch and just take it all in. When I am at a lower elevation, like at BYU campus, I’m surrounded by pretty snow-capped mountains, dressed in plant life during the summer time. This day, as I look the exterior, it makes me want to sleep using the clouds as a cushion. Once in a while we receive a random drizzle, which is always an enjoyable change from the hot weather in the summer. The summers are not miserably baking hot, though, since Utah is a high desert. Humidity is nearly does not exist, which takes some getting used to. However, once I did, I loved it! It makes finding someplace cool to chill at during the summer much easier. Something I really enjoy about Utah, which is breath-taking in its own right, is the grid road system. They use a easy-to-learn grid system in the majority of the cities in Utah, making it a cinch to find places. If I need to go to my classmate’s home, and he lives at 845 N 900 E in Provo, all I need to do to arrive there is go to that city, find the street 900 East, and then go until I arrive at the block of 900 East in between 800 North and 900 North. It makes my life much simpler, now that I do not have to go onto Google Maps to find directions. If I were able, I would most definitely purchase some homes in Utah right now.
