Vancouver real estate – Vancouver 2010 gave the Games a distinctive footprint
The city of Vancouver acted as host to the 16 days of the 2010 Winter Olympics and the ensuing festivities were witnessed on television by millions of viewers from all around the World! Preparations for this unique event took 7 years to finish, and though there were some minor problems at the very beginning of the event, they didn’t stop the Canadian hockey team from emerging victorious over the US team and win the goal medal. What’s more, Canada took away more gold medals than any other Olympic host country, with 14 victories in 16 days. Downtown Vancouver was the site for quite a few cultural events including live music, and dazzling light shows. Many events, including ziplining down Robson Street had extended wait times. There were bashes on just about every street corner. Vancouver’s primary area for nightclubs and nightlife, Granville Street, was stuffed with people every evening. Canada’s numerous provinces, not to mention the different countries participating in the games were all showcased in elaborate pavilions that informed people about their diverse cultures. Many people visited Downtown during the games, a lot of the celebration was held after Closing Ceremonies. People wearing Canada’s red and white carried on down the streets introducing themselves to passers-by with smiles and cheering. This wonderful occurrence went on without any trouble! Security was posted near Vancouver condos every several feet but people were quite well behaved.
